Happy Easter!
Yesterday we dyed eggs. We found neon dye to use this year! Easter Morning the kids woke up to find that the Easter Bunny had left plastic Easter eggs with pennies inside them leading all the way downstairs to their Easter baskets (fun!). The look of amazement on their faces was priceless. Ayden's response however was the best. "MOM! MOM! (as he came to wake me up) MOM! Santa CAME!" Oh Ayden...
The kids each received brand new kick balls (Ayden: Cars Madison: Princesses), clothes, books, and of course chocolate Easter Bunnies and Peeps! The Easter Bunny(ies) in their lives did a good job of spoiling them.
We went to Church this morning and enjoyed a great Easter Sunday Message. The kids did an egg hunt in Sunday School. It was a good morning!
On the way home... as we got to the intersection of FF and Hwy 29 (the same spot almost 4 years ago where we had our T-Bone collision) we saw rescue squads and fire trucks from three counties (Hobart, Howard, and Green Bay) responding to a very similar accident. They however were not as fortunate as we were. It literally sent shivers down my back. As we turned away from the accident, I saw someone being pulled away on a stretcher with a blanket over them. Brought tears to my eyes. I hope there was an angel watching over them and that in the end, it was not as horrible as it seemed when we drove by. Reading the coverage on the news, it sounds like there were only injuries (unsure how severe) ... Please keep those families in your prayers. What a horrible thing to have happen, leave alone on Easter Sunday.
Once we were home, we finished up the fixings for dinner and had our Easter Dinner. Ham with a mustard sauce, Cheesy Hash browns, and garlic asparagus. Yumm! Even the kids had seconds. That is a compliment in my book. We then had a lazy rest of the afternoon.
